Thank You Mini Square Cards
It has been long since my last post. I came back from Japan a week ago and adjusting to GMT-4 from GMT+9 has been harder this year.
Anyhow, we had a great trip and I came back full of ideas and memories.
Today's project is very simple, a small 2.75 x 2.75 inch mini cards, with a whimsical, cute feel, that can be given as gifts in a set or as thank you notes by themselves.

WOD ing For Two Vinyl
First of all I have to say that I don't work out, so I know nothing about WODs, Highpulls, Wall Balls, Jerks or Ringdips. Now that I think about it, these all sound like insults, LOL!
My sister does though. She and her husband are HUGE Crossfit enthusiasts, so I made her this vinyl for her to put on a training tank while she is pregnant.

Onesies and Some Other Tiny Clothes.
My parents went to Chicago to visit my sister. She is expecting a baby girl and I wanted them to give her a couple of gifts from her crafty uncle. I guess I went a little overboard.

Moroccan Tile Lace Card Set 7 - It's Cerulean Darling
I kept thinking I was missing a color from the visible light spectrum. That's when Miranda Priestly from the Devil Wears Prada came to my mind, so this card is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean darling.

Moroccan Tile Lace Card Set 6 - Ultraviolet
Violet is the last color of the visible spectrum of light, so I thought it would be a good closure for this Moroccan Tile Card Sets Series.

Wagon Planter - Little Big Crafter Bundles
The weather is crazy here. 32°C (90°F) all week, makes you think summer is not going anywhere.
For those of you in the north half of the planet, this is a pretty card to have in store for when spring arrives.

Kirigami (Pop Up) Star Destroyer Card - English and Spanish Version
I went to see Star Wars The Force Awakens a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if you guys have that technology in your movie theaters, but 4DX show rooms are the best! (moving seats, water, smell, lights and so much more, it is like a Disney ride every time)
Rant apart, I was so moved by it that I wanted to create a card with a Star Wars theme and I wanted it to POP, so I designed this Kirigami (pop up) Star Destroyer card. If you don't know what a Star Destroyer is... congratulations, you are not a geek like me... lol!

Multi Layer Valentine's Card - One Design, So Many Options #1
I'll be taking a break from the journaling cards to give you some Valentine's Day projects for you to try your hand at.
I designed this card last year, but couldn't quite get the right color combination or technique. This year, I decided to try different approaches to the same design to achieve different looks.

Photo Journaling Cards - Travel Journaling Series
The next paragraphs may not make much sense at first, but trust me, it'll all fall into place at the end.
As you all know by now, I love traveling and I have had the fortune to peregrinate a lot.
I also enjoy taking pictures and making digital albums of our trips that I print in a magazine sort of format later.
On our last visit to San Francisco in 2014, I found this stationery store called Maido Stationery (http://www.mymaido.com/) and found out about the Midori Traveler's Notebook, the coolest planner/journal you'll ever have. (I've acquired 2 more since then). That's when travel journaling started.
Finally, with so many photos on my phone that don't make it into the albums, I wanted a way to incorporate them on my travel journal, and that's when the Instax SP1 printer came along.
Of course being crafty, I had to do something different for them and that's how I stumbled upon journaling cards. And here, after this long introduction, is the first one:
This is just two layers. The top layer, a white cardstock cutout with a decorative stitched border. And a bottom layer made of a simple color cardstock..
Of course after gluing the two together, using spray adhesive, I ran it through my cuttlebug machine using the embossing rubber mat (check this post for more information on this). This makes it completely flat so it is not too bulky.
Of course I embellished it with some sequins and hand drawn white dots. Sakura Gel Pens are great for that, very opaque and smooth to write with.
The back of this journaling card has a picture of my brother, my sister an I at a cousin's wedding last November. I also stamped the back using the Hero Arts Smile Background Stamp with StazOn Cotton White Solvent Ink and added a strip of washi tape on top to hold the photo in place.
I hope you like it as much as I do.

To make them more durable (who knows where my journal will have to go through in the future) and to avoid sequins flying all over the place, I sealed them using the Fuse from We R Memory Keepers and Avery Elle's Stamp and Die Storage Pockets.
They fit in the Traveker's Noteboock perfectly (final size of the card is 4x3") and can be held in place using clips or washi tape.
I love how this turned out so much, that I plan on making a lot more in the future.I hope you like it as much as I do.
