Safari Birthday Card

A card for all the party animals out there!

As always the base is an 8,5 x 5,5 notecard, so after importing to DS resize to 8,5 wide. Don't forget to ungroup and then attach the animal drawings to the white background circles so your machine writes and then cuts.

I happened to have some giraffe animal print paper around (don't ask why, LOL) so decided to use it.

The yellow panel was embossed using the sketchbook folder by We R Memory keepers. and distressed  using Old Paper color ink.

The ribbon is a trimming I bought at Mood Fabrics a couple of years ago on a trip to NY. I Hadn't found a good use for it until now.

The animals are painted using the watercolor technique with distress inks and the Ranger Fine nib Waterbrush (we just decided we are going to Japan on february, so I expect to get me some copics markers once there!!)

For the red circle frames I used white cardstock inked with Ripe Persimmon, Barn Door and a little bit of Brushed Corduroy distress ink on Tsukineko daubers and sprayed with Forever Red, Rangers Perfect Pearls mist to give it shimmer. (the picture below shows the shine of it)

I popped the frames out with mounting foam and voilĂ !

The file comes with "feliz cumple" and "happy birthday" sentiment.

Please, feel free to download, subscribe and comment, it encourages the hard work.

  1. Omar,
Another awesome card, so cute and whimsical, love it! You mentioned you bought the ribbon at MOOD in New York...I am a huge fan of the TV show "Project Runway" and the contestants always go shopping at MOOD for their fabrics to create their fashion designs. Do you have this show in Chile?
    Japan?? how exciting!!

    Hugs from the USA!,
    Josie (TurtleBug)

  2. Thanks Josie!
We do get the show and we watch every season. In fact, that was the main reason for going to Mood on that trip, lol.
It's our second trip to Japan, this time we'll be doing a train journey!
    Hugs 2u2!
