Butterfly Vitreaux Card

I know the northern hemisphere is getting ready for fall, but down here we can't wait for spring to come. I made this card for a cricut forum challenge and decided to make an SVG for it.

I've seen lots of butterfly SVGs out there, but I really wanted a "vitreaux" feel to it, with black lines on top of colored blocks. I assembled the butterfly using 3M Super 77 Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive on the back of the black outline cut and placed the color blocks accordingly. They do not overlap, so it won't be difficult to place the pieces in the right position.

I'm very pleased on how this card turned out and most impressed on how the cricut explore performed on this intricate design. For the embossing I used the Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Butterflies & Flowers Set by Stephanie Barnard (link at the bottom of the post) and very convenient flat back rhinestones from the craft outlet glued with Aleene's glue pen.

The antennae broke off, so I had to draw them with a black gel pen. The file contains the antennae in case you want to cut a bigger file butterfly.

Import in DS and resize to 4 inches wide.

Hope you like it
