Revisited Argyle Sweater Card With Real Stitching

Last year I made a similar card, but it had faux stitching made with a white gel pen.
This one has real stitching instead. Don´t judge me, I´m not good at hand sewing, so if you think this card could do better with a different sewing technique, please let me know.

I wanted the stitching to be very neat and evenly spaced, so I took the time to create and match every hole in the card. I also grouped the shapes so you wouldn't have to rearrange them to save cardstock when cutting. As always I included the notecard with the rounded corners on the SVG file. I have to admit though, I cut my notecards from an 8.5"x11" piece of cardstock and round the corners using my corner chomper instead of cutting them with the Cricut, to save paper.

I always like to add something extra to my cardstock, so, for this, I used the Canvas Hero Arts Background Stamp with Versamark ink for a tone on tone look and also give a textured look to it. I also inked the edges of the diamonds with darker color ink Distress Ink on a Blending tool.
To attach the diamonds to the base, add a little glue to the corners of each one , and then match the center hole with the corresponding one on the card base.
I used a continuous stitch and tucked the end under the previous one to avoid it from sticking outside of the card base.
Notice some diamonds are overlap the card base
and will help position and glue the shirt cutout later on.
Tucked ends.

Glue the Shirt cutout in place, adding glur to the overlapping diamonds.

I like to use sewing clips to hold in place while the glue dries.
Glue the sweater ribbed neck and hold in place with sewing clips.

I wanted the sweater to be raised on the notecard I used for the card, so I used craft foam cut a 1/8" smaller than the sweater. I rounded the corners and measured to cut around the shirt opening.

Mark the shirt opening

Trim around the drawn line.
Make sure the craft foam does not show.
Glue the craft foam to the sweater base.
Put the bow together and attach it under the shirt collar.

Finally, using also a tape runner or ATG gun adhere everything to a notecard. I wanted to make a separate piece for the sweater, so you could choose any card base you wanted.
