I wanted a colorful card for my sister's Birthday and ever as soon as I got my Uchi's Design Spanish sentiment Stamps, I decided to do my version of Lisa's Balloon Card, By the way, there´s so much good stuff on her blog (http://iminhaven.blogspot.com/)
I did not have much time to make this card, so instead of stenciling the chevron pattern on the back panel, I did a quick zigzag on illustrator and printed my own. I also different colors, but I wanted to stay true to Lisa's design and went with the grey. Here are the colors I tried (they look gorgeous on the card also)
The 3 color on the right match Distress color inks (Peacock feathers, Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick) in case you want to do some inking.
The balloons were cut from colored cardstock and the highlights were hand drawn using a pilot white gel pen.. I tried tying the strings but they ended up being too bulky, so a dot of glue on the back did the trick.
I popped the two front balloons with a bit of mounting tape to give it dimension and I folded the end of the strings to the back and glued them in place.
For the sentiment I used Uchi's Design Birthday Stamp Set (a few of the spanish stamps that amazon carries) and embossed it using versamark ink and white embossing powder. I added some enamel dots to give more color to the front banner.
I popped the banner with some mounting tape on top of the strings, and finally popped the chevron panel on the 4.25 x 5.5 notecard (included on the file)
Hope you like it
