I wanted the right hue, so for the light blue cardstock I applied Peacock Feathers and a little Bundled Sage Distress Ink in a Mini blending tool to give it a bright blue color and spritzed drops of water to make it look a little bit aged.
The hat was darkened using Pumice Stone Distress Ink on a Mini Blending Tool. For the banner, instead of using a darker red color cardstock, I used the same one for the shadowed parts and colored it with a Cardinal Red R59 Copic Marker. I added darker accents on the mustache too. I also added highlights with a white gel Signo pen.I finished the wording with some Mod Podge to make it look shiny and added a couple of drops here and there just for the heck of it. I like that it looks like dew drops.
I popped every single item on the card using 3M Mounting Tape because, boy I love dimension!
At first I had not rounded the corners of the rectangular panels on the SVG file and decided I didn't like them after cutting all, so I used a great I acquired recently from We R Memory Keepers called Crop A Dile Corner Chomper. I'll be using this a lot since most of my base cards are Note cards I cut on my paper trimmer and not on my machine.
Hope you enjoy it.
