Simple Black and Gold Pennant

Hello everyone!
Sorry for the long absence, I was away for my holidays. We had a blast in New Zealand!
Here you'll the file for the simple banner that we hanged at my brother's house for my mom's 70th birthday.

The base is 60 lb black cardstock. For the Writing I used a Cricut Medium Gold Pen and gold cardstock for the letters.
The ZIP file you can download, comes with 2 separate SVG files: a single pennant and 4 pieces by page that you can cut from a single 12x12 sheet of cardstock.
I put 4 holes to pass the ribbon, so the each part of banner would stay straight when hanging.

The lettering was made in illustrator with an offset of 0.25" and added to the SVG file to be written along with the flourished border. I've tried doing this using your choice of fonts with Design Space, but the software won't let you edit fonts as shapes to hide the contour of outlined fonts, so you might have to dive into an SVG editing software if you want to make your own. The other option is to use an Outlined Font and write both, the inner and outer line on the banner and also cut it on paper but just use the inside of the font (the supposed negative space). And the last option is to use a payed Cricut Multilayered Font like Southwest.

Finally, please check out the link for the Stardream Collection Antique Gold cardstock, personally, it is one of the most beautiful gold cardstock I've seen. It also cuts beautifully and the core is colored, so you don't get those white borders on your cutouts.

Enjoy!
