I wanted to share this project I made for mother's day, because you can use the base not only for this event, but for any occasion really.
A while ago, I posted a couple of accordion (or swing) cards using some OAK Tree Stamps images - by the way, the company is going out of business and there's a huge sale going on, so go check it out.

My Facebook friend Flo Hill-Rennie, asked me to make this pattern for her a very long time ago and I had it sitting until now.
I added a couple of embellishments and silhouettes to accommodate the occasion and came up with this fun card.
There are three panels with hearts in the center where the images go.There's inking on the edges and details I added using a white gel pen
You can use these pictures as a guide to apply highlights and dots if you want.
I love the contrast of the bright fuchsia against the muted orange and creamy color of the matted panel.
The embossing adds to the motherly feeling, it reminds me of my mom's knitted sweaters she used to make for us.
When the card is closed, you can see the brush lettering I did with my ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
The back of the swinging hearts, were covered with just the white mat to leave writing space, I forgot to take pictures before writing the sentiment, sorry for that..
The file has also mats to embellish the back of the card, as well as the hearts to write your sentiments on.
As always, the download link is at the end of this post and a list of the supplies list is right before that.
Enjoy!
Here's the video tutorial on how to assemble the card.
Thank you for the lovely file
ReplyDeleteThank You so much Omar!
ReplyDeleteI love this card Omar. I tried cutting it and when I upload it to DS, the second and third child I can only see the outline. Also on the panel that has all four corners, not rounded only half a heart cuts out. I want to make this for my mom. Thank you again for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHello Vikki,
DeleteSorry for that, the Heart panel issue was fixed, there was an anchor point "floating" around the right contour that prevented the shape from showing as part of the panel.
As for the children contours, just click on the MAKE IT button in DS, since they are not closed shapes, they show as hollow, but once they are sorted in mats by color, they will be all together.
I hope that helps.
Please download the file again.
Thanks for your time
What a beautiful card! Thank you for sharing your creations with us.
