Mama Bear's Day Card - Dimesional Cuteness

Happy mother's day to all of you mama bears blessed with cubs.
I could not decide what to make my mom for tomorrow, so, after a lot of sketching, I came up with this "beary" cute card.
The card is very simple, but the popped up pieces give it a cool, elaborated look.
The front panel is made out of a top folding white notecard wit a cutout for the bears and a pink offset path embossed with the Cuttlebug Ben Day-Dots Embossing Folder. I love that the dots are bigger towards the middle and adds to the depth of the card.

The banner on top is made of white cardstock. It is a little curved, so adjust your sentiment stamp accordingly. Using a Misti (I don't own one) or a Fiskars stamp press (I have one of those) can help in positioning it correctly. The sentiment is from Uchi's Design "Día de la Madre" set, inked with Versamark Ink and heat embossed using the sparkkling WOW Vintage Amethyst embossing powder.
Note that he ends of the banner lie flat on the gray offset path and the center is popped using mounting tape

Mount the banner the front of the card using double sided tape.
For the bears, I used different colored cardstock, to be able to differentiate the cub from the mother.
For the mother, I used an ocher color cardstock for the offset paths and a light brown for the front ones. I inked the edges using a dauber and Tea Die Distress Ink.
For the Cub, I used dark brown cardstock for the back  and a Kraft colored cardstock for the front inked with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
I gave them both, subtle rosy cheeks using Spun Sugar Distress Ink also on a dauber.
For the ears I used a pink Galaxy Chalk Marker and painted the offset path behind the front path and for the nose I used a black fine line marker and added a dab of Mod Podge for shine and dimension.
I added highlights using a white gel Signo pen.

Now for the assembly:
Glue each front piece to the corresponding offset path. using liquid glue (it hardens the pieces and keeps them straight).
Use the front cutout of the card to position the pieces.
Start with the Mother's body using  double sided tape. Then glue the baby's body using also double sided tape.
The only dimension these two pieces have is given by the thickness of the cardstock.
Continue with the mother's arms using mounting tape on to top arch only.
The hands must be left unglued to position the cub's arms.
Place the cub's arms using mounting tape on all the surface.
Make sure the mother's arms are in front of this piece. Now it would be a good time to place a dab of glue under the mother´s hands to keep them from sticking out.
Place the mother's head with mounting tape.
Use 3 layers of mounting tape in the ears. In the picture you only see one layer because I realized later I needed 3 to compensate for he popped arms and the cardstock thickness.
Finally, adhere the cub's head using mounting tape in the bottom and double sided tape on top. Make sure to tilt the head a little bit to the right to boost the cuteness.
This is to keep the top of the head aligned with the mother's head.
The layers cast beautiful shadows and adds life to the mother and the cub.
Add some sequins to the front and the inside of the card using a strong adhesive like Rangers Multi Medium  Matte. The ones on the inside look almost like hearts coming out of the mama bear.
I stamped another sentiment from the same stamp set on the inside to finish this card.

There's not much space to write on this card, but the image says it all and between you and me, "I love you mom" is something that has to be said everyday.

Have a great day you all and my thoughts got to those who don't have your mother with you.

Enjoy and celebrate life!
