Lace Frame Birthday Card Tutorial + Giveaway! - (Closed)

Keeping the color of the year theme - Ultraviolet - I decided to make my sister a birthday card. This is the first project I made with my brand new Cricut Maker I got for Christmas, so I wanted all the cutting to speak for itself.
The downloadable file includes 3 versions of the card: english, spanish and also a blank version so you can put whatever you want inside the frame. Keep reading to learn how to add your own sentiment to this card right in Design Space.
Also enter for a chance to win a Chilean linen Texture paper Pack, instructions on post.

The Font I used for the sentiment is Berlin Sans FB Demi Bold, a nice thick font great for die cutting. I worked on Illustrator and adjusted the kerning of the letters and the size of each line, but you can do this easily in Design Space as well. Download the free font here.

I'm amazed at how good this machine is!! The thinnest lines are 1/32" thick and were cut using the fast setting with a regular blade and a very old mat (I pushed it and it delivered beautifully). I have to give credit to the cardstock though, we might not have too many craft stores here, but Chileans know how to make some darn good paper. Keep reading to know how to win a pack of this awesome paper.

The card base is 5" x 10" cut from an American Crafts Summer Paper Pack by hand and scored in the middle using a scoring board - the file includes the card base though.

Because of the intricacy of the cut, the lace frame was glued to the card base using spray adhesive.

I finished the card using a few dots of Viva Color Pearl Pen in Anthracite, a nice graphite, glittery, dimensional embellishment.

The winner will be picked randomly on January 21st 2018, so, there's plenty of time. Good Luck!!

  11. My Spanish is poor, but most of my grandchildren are pretty fluent, so I love making cards for them in Spanish. The 8-year-old goes to bilingual school in our California town, so it's nice when we can make a card for a teacher or classmate. Thanks for the help you've given me!
