Blowing Butterflies - Framed Wall Decor

My mom loves butterflies and she's been on a family portrait mood lately, so we decided to combine both and came out with this 25" x 35" framed wall decor, featuring my niece in a butterfly skirt.

May I present to you my niece, she's a beautiful, almost 20 year old civil engineering student and the perfect model for this portrait frame. As they say: "She's got the brains of an Einstein and the looks of a Garbo"
The execution of the project is very simple. The frame is lined with a tan chenille fabric and all the pieces are secured using pins. At first we wanted corresponding head colored pins, but we realized there was no need for that, because you can't really see them. We did use white ones for the big butterflies though and we painted the heads on the silhouette using a black Sharpie.

The file comes with four layers:
Two of them are small butterflies, one of big butterflies and the last one is the silhouette of the girl.
I sized all the butterflies layers to be cut from an 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock. For the small butterflies I ended up cutting 4 sheets of each color cardstock (tan, black and white); 2 of each design.
I only cut one sheet of the bigger butterflies, out of Neenah Metallic Cardstock in White Gold Finish and embossed them using a Cricut embossing folder to give it texture. This is a gorgeous cardstock that has a subtle and elegant shine to it.
The silhouette of the girl on the file is split and arranged so that it can be cut from a single 12" x 12" piece of cardstock, just overlap 1/8 of an inch at the shoulder and the bun to assemble. The final shape is 12.5" x 13.1".

I disguised the bun joint using some heat setting rhinestones, but you can use self adhesive rhinestones as well.
