Raising Clotheslines Pop Up Card - OAK Tree Stamps

I'm going to be an uncle again!
My sister is having a baby and after 18 years, family is finally growing.
For this precious event I made this pop up card using simple V folds, paper piecing and colored stamped images.
Check out the movement!
Wait for the animation to load
Assembling the card is very simple. Start with the trees.
Ink the edges using Pine Needles Distress Ink on a Mini Ink Blending Tool. For the trunk, I heat embossed the wood texture using the Woodgrain Lawn Fawn Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and clear embossing powder. I also inked the edges using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
Make sure to insert the branches in the slots to make it look more dimensional.
This is how the back looks like
Glue the trees to the offset path (the white surrounding path) keeping an even border all around.
Ink the bottom grass with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and glue on top of the trees.

Glue the small tab to the back of the offset paths.
These tabs help the pop ups stand up when the card opens.

Ink the base panels and glue them using a liquid glue to the pink card base.
Insert the Trees panel in the backmost slots.
Pull them all the way in and fold open.
Glue the tabs to the back using strong liquid  adhesive. I found liquid adhesive works best in this case, because it helps hardening the cardstock.
Repeat the same process with the other pop up panels (fence and front grass).
For the fence, I also used the Woodgrain Stamp and heat embossed the texture with clear embossing powder. Inking is a little difficult due to the intricacy of the cut, but I did my best.

The front panel is just grass and it was inked with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.

For the rattle and the little safety pin I put some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter and a dot of Mod Podge to the center to give it dimension. Do not use Mounting Foam on the characters or the props because it will interfere with the mechanism and will eventually bend the pieces. Before gluing the embellishments, make sure everything folds and unfolds properly.
Open and close often to make sure everything works.

After coloring the onesie, and gluing it to the offset path, hang it on the clothesline using a small strip of brown colored cardstock and a strong double sided tape, to resemble a clothespin .

Do not place the clothespin in the center fold, slide it a bit to one side.
I decided the trees needed more details, so besides adding highlight with a white gel pen, I created some sort of enamel dots using a Viva Decor Red Pen to make them look like flowers or apples and adhered them using Multi Medium Matte from Ranger.
For the mom (my sister) I added a speech bubble with the sentiment from the Baby Bumps Stamp set. I cut two speech bubbles and glued them together so it wouldn't bend.
And for the baby, since my sister is having a girl, I stamped the little bow intended as a onesie embellishment on the base of the hair to make her girlier.
I also added a couple of lashes on the corner of the eyes with a 0.1 multiliner.
The outside of the card is very simple, a raised white panel on top of some Neenah pearlescent 65 lb. cardstock cutout.

I used a LOT of mounting foam tape to avoid the panel getting squashed during shipping.
By the outside look of the card, no one expects it to be so bright and colorful on the inside.
I hope this card makes my sister and my brother in law as happy as I am with the news of a new member of our family.

You can use the contour feature in Design Space to hide the floor flowers on one side to have some space to write a message, I like it as it is though.
Remember OAK Tree Stamps is having a sale through July 6th and this, and all stamp sets are only $4.95!!! No code or coupon needed.
