Shades of Grey Feathers Card

Just like that,
A simple card using the writing feature of the Cricut Explore.

The background of the card and the black strip was stamped using the Tsukineko Cloud White Versamagic Ink Pad. I like this ink, it allows very sharp lines and the covering is great. The stamps are from Hero Arts (you can find them in the supplies list at the end of the post). For the Black strip i masked the edges with some post it tape which comes off in a breeze after stamping. and holds the stripe to the craft sheet while you stamp.

The feathers were drawn in the explore using a signo uniball silver pen (see tutorial here) and were inked using a watercolor technique with Black Soot Distress Ink.

I attached them using some Baker's Twine and popped them with some 3M Mounting Foam.

I did some watercolor splatters (they actually look better in person) and added some sequins for a little bling.

Instructions:
  1. Import in DS.
  2. Resize to 5.5 inches wide
  3. Ungroup.
  4. Change the function of the feathers to write
  5. Attach the base of the feathers to the lines to be drawn.

Enjoy!
